We collect the following categories of information through schools and usage of the Nova platform:
Full name, date of birth, gender
School name, class, section, session year
Student ID, roll number
Grades, assignments, exams, and progress reports
Attendance history and activity logs
Uploaded homework or coursework
Profile picture (optional)
Name, relationship to student
Email address and phone number
Guardian ID (linked to child/children)
Communication history with school/teachers
Profile photo (optional)
IP address and device type (when using Nova on a phone, tablet, or computer)
Activity logs (e.g. when you viewed lessons or submitted assignments)
Note: Nova does not collect or store financial information from students or parents directly. Payments are processed securely via integrated gateways by schools.
We receive data in 3 ways:
Directly from schools during enrollment or academic updates
Through actions taken on the platform (assignments, logins, etc.)
We only use your data for educational and school-related purposes:
To help students learn better via smart, student-paced tools
To allow teachers and schools to track academic progress
To send academic alerts, feedback, and updates to parents
To provide reports, grades, and attendance records
To allow parents to monitor their child’s education journey
To improve our platform and learning experience
Your data is kept private and only shared with:
Your school’s staff and teachers (for academic and administrative purposes)
Nova support staff (for technical troubleshooting)
Verified parents or guardians linked to a student
Authorized 3rd-party services (like cloud hosting, SMS/email delivery)—only under strict data protection contracts
We do not sell or share your data for marketing or advertising purposes.
All student/parent data is encrypted in transit and at rest
Access is protected with passwords, role-based permissions, and logs
Only verified users (teachers, school admins, parents) can access specific data
We review and monitor systems regularly to prevent misuse

Your login credentials are confidential and must not be shared.
Student records are retained only as long as required by your school and academic policy.
After graduation, transfer, or deletion requests, your data is archived for 10 years, then securely deleted.
Parents can request the deletion of guardian data at any time.
Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act and other applicable laws, you or your guardian have the right to:

Nova may integrate with tools like Zoom, Google Classroom, or payment gateways. When you use these tools, their privacy policies also apply. Nova is not liable for external platform data use.
Nova is used under the supervision of schools. Students under 13 must have a parent/guardian managing their access. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without school or parental authorization.
